Where can I begin in my efforts to talk about No Judgments? It was an amazing journey.
The greatest treasure I discovered at the end of it was a deeper understanding of myself. My weaknesses were magnified and so were my strengths. We all have both but to be given the time to figure them out is a privilege. In many ways, I avoided thinking about either one because it is just so much work. But in the end, I realized that my weaknesses are what keep me depending on God and my strengths are what keep me being used by Him, in spite of myself. This project took a really long time. However, the process God took me through while working on this was something that He knew I needed. God continues to reveal to me how choosing a "No Judgment" way of life can be so powerful. Not only does it open doors to share Christ with the unsaved but it also builds trust with believers who need a place to share their hurts and failures. When people are struggling with sin issues, they need to find someone who believes in forgiveness and restoration. In those times they need to know more than ever that someone wants to listen, to care and to help them find their way back. Every judgment I have ever made always ended up turning into a wall between me and the other person. For me, that is proof right there that it's not a good idea to walk around thinking too much about what you think about someone. "Set your mind on the things above " was better advice than we'll ever realize. I know that I don't have the "no judgment" thing perfected.
But these last two years have definitely given me a greater desire to
love. I long to be a better person, a better friend, a better Christian.
That's what these songs did for me. |
